- Make sure you stretch
either before or after training capoeira.
- Try not to imagine what a capoeira movement is supposed to look like, unless your
teacher demonstrates.
- Don’t be afraid to move to the music while training or watching the
teacher. Let your body go.
- Always stay light on your limbs (not just your feet)…capoeira isn’t
always played upright.
- Ask lots of questions, after all learning capoeira is almost like learning another
language.
- Practice outside of class. Pick a technique and do it until you’re tired
of it….then keep doing it.
- Be dynamic in your capoeira movements, but don’t lose yourself in them. Be
precisely dynamic!
- Try and understand the game before becoming overly aggressive. It combat
for sure, but there are so many elements as well.
- When doing everyday activities, if you feel the urge to move... ginga,
do a handstand, whatever….do it. Don’t allow yourself to have a cap for your
potential
- Most importantly…Enjoy yourself!!!
