The Aú de Cabeca movement is essentially a cartwheel done on your head. We recommend you are comfortable with queda de rins and au before you try au de cabeca. Learning au de cabeca will be easier and quicker to learn and you will be equipped with the right skills needed in perfecting this specific au.

Au de Cabeca How-To:

It is important to start very low to the ground. Make sure your hands are flat so that the entire hand (palm and fingers) touches the ground. This is important with any move done with hands touching the ground. Beginners tend to touch with their fingers and not the palm of the hands, avoiding this common mistake will improve your balance. Look forward (or towards your opponent) just as you would with the basic au movement. Try landing slowly to avoid hurting your side as you end in queda de rins. As soon as you land you must push off the ground with the hand you land on.
